We are currently hiring for the following positions:
Residential HVAC Lead Installation Technician
Full-time/Part-time opening for HVAC Lead Installation Technician.
General
- Physical – Must be capable of:
- Climbing stairs, ladders and scaffolds – working at heights above 30 feet
- Standing or walking for long periods of time
- Sitting, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling; working in confined spaces -crawlspaces/basements/attics
- Lifting/shifting at least 75 pounds
- Good mechanical skills
- Positive attitude and capable of being team player
- Must be willing and capable of learning on the job
- Must have reliable transportation
- Background check and drug-test required
- Valid driver’s license & clean driving record – MVR obtained on continual basis
- Must be well-groomed and make a neat appearance
- Minimum 5 years of installation experience, 2 years of independent or lead installation experience of hot water and forced air systems.
- Preferred: 2 years of installation experience with snow melt systems
- NATE Certification, EPA Certification, Completion of formal HVAC trade program or equivalent

- Manage and coordinate installation of complete HVAC systems from the ground up including ductwork and radiant pipe/tube layout, setting and connection of equipment and completion and documentation of paperwork and work performed.
- Must be able to keep crew of 2-4 employees on target for necessary deadlines and be able to assess and review craftsmanship of work and code compliance to the specifications of manufacturers.
- Clear communication between homeowners/general contractors, company management, office dispatch and co-workers both oral and written is critical for success in this role.
- Work can be residential and occasional commercial and construction site applications.
- Work is generally done during regular business hours and seasonal overtime required
- Work safely and follow safety rules
- Follow all verbal instructions and company policies on safety
- Take all reasonable and prudent actions to maintain a safe working environment and prevent injury or physical damage to company or customer property and/or vehicles

- Recommendation from HVAC Department head and/or HVAC Instructor or prior employer
- Must have proven acceptable scores on mechanical comprehension tests

- Must have knowledge and mechanical capabilities to complete basic installation work based on instructions from Senior/Master Installation Specialist (and retain experience and learning)

- Standing or walking for long periods of time
- Sitting, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling; working in confined spaces -crawlspaces/basements/attics
- Lifting/shifting at least 75 pounds
- Good mechanical and electrical skills and aptitude
- Positive attitude and capable of being team player
- Must be willing and capable of learning on the job
- Must have reliable transportation
- Background check and drug-test required
- Valid driver’s license & clean driving record – MVR obtained on continual basis
- Must be well-groomed and make a neat appearance
- Minimum 2 years of service experience with forced air and hot water systems
- NATE Certification, EPA Certification, Completion of formal HVAC trade program or equivalent
- On-the-job learning:
- Must be willing to learn new products and techniques as the industry evolves
- Must willing and capable of sharing personal knowledge and technique to co-workers and other staff
- Need to be ambitious and take initiative to learn
- Obtain and maintain all necessary continuing education (e-learning and classroom courses)
- Accurately assess and diagnose required repairs and identify cause of system failures and preventive measures necessary to avoid future failure
- Identify short-comings in existing system installations that could lead to future failures
- Be up to date and follow current code standards and make recommendations for compliance and safe and reliable HVAC operations for owners
- Perform routine maintenance on forced air, hot water and radiant HVAC systems
- Work with technical support and vendors to identify failed parts and purchase parts for replacement
- Install WiFi thermostats and other controls, zone damper systems, Indoor Air Quality products
- Maintain working knowledge of ancillary products to improve HVAC systems for customers
- Clear communication between homeowners/general contractors, company management, office dispatch and co-workers both oral and written is critical for success in this role

- Assist service team with taking evening and weekend on-call technical support
